Liz wanted a design similar to coffee she had seen online. After reviewing the table, we discussed some minor changes that would better fit her needs in her space. This coffee table is in walnut. Liz uses evaporative coolers in the summer and likes to have her windows and doors open when the weather is nice. These drastic swings in humidity can wreak havoc on a solid wood table top (cupping, bowing, etc.). We elected to use real wood veneer and were able to source very high-quality veneers for the table and shelf.
The design is simple enough, but the small touches elevate this table. The legs are at slight compound angles that give a lighter overall look. The shelf floats just above the leg stretchers and the under bevel on the top and shelf create a modern look. Not quite MCM, not quite farmhouse.
